We're looking for reliable, warm and engaging Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Teachers to join our casual pool supporting a quality early learning service in Sunbury.
This is a great opportunity if you enjoy variety, love building quick rapport with children and teams and want casual work close to home.
The Shifts:
- Casual relief / day-to-day bookings
- 6 hour shifts + the option to pick up additional OSHC shifts in other services if desired
- Work available for Early Childhood educators and teachers who can travel within 30 minutes of Sunbury
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting rooms across the service as needed (babies-kindergarten - must be comfortable to work in all rooms with flexibility)
- Creating safe, inclusive and play-based learning experiences
- Building positive relationships with children, families and staff
- Following routines, policies and guidance from the room leader / educational leader and centre management
- Maintaining active supervision and contributing to a positive team culture
What we're looking for:
- Experience in Early Childhood settings, beyond placement experience
- Confident supporting daily routines and transitions
- Ability to fully interact and engage with all children to provide the best service and educational outcomes - this isn't a role where you can sit back and observe - hands on support is essential!
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, at all times
- Maintain accurate records of children's development and learning experiences, where required
- Adaptable, proactive and professional communication and ability to collaborate with colleagues
- Availability for 6 hour casual shifts
- Ability to commute within 30 minutes of Sunbury
- A genuine love for working with children and desire to see them reach/extend their developmental milestones
- A strong understanding of current Child Safety Regulations and your role as a Mandatory Reporter
Compliance Requirements
- Certificate III and/or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent), and/or
- Bachelor of Early Childhood / Early Childhood Teaching qualification (or equivalent) + current VIT registration (or ability to work at Diploma/Cert Educator)
- A current, clear Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current WWC + First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Mandatory Reporting for Early Childhood and National Child Safety Training Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience in a childcare setting is essential (placement experience only will not be considered at this stage)
- Punctuality, flexibility and a proactive, positive attitude
- Ideally you'll be local or have access to your own vehicle and a willingness to travel up to 45 minutes
- A minimum of 3 days availability across Monday - Friday and able to varied shifts where required
