This role involves teaching students in a straight junior grade and requires the ability to teach Religious Education, supporting the Catholic ethos and faith values of the school. Key duties:
Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
- Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
- Teach Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices in alignment with diocesan or school guidelines, and approved RE programs.
- Foster a holistic approach by integrating Catholic values across subjects where appropriate.
- Guide students in understanding Gospel values, Catholic traditions, and how these relate to their lives and the broader community.
- Ensure all students, regardless of background, feel valued and supported in exploring their faith.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia/NZ
- Experience working with a Catholic school advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
