Job Description
The Mental Health Rehabilitation support Worker will engage members of our Clubhouse in menaingful tasks and activities as well as working alongside them to to achieve goals in areas such as employment , education, housing, wellness and social recreation in accordance with individual support needs and goals.
In keeping with the philosophy of the organisation, staff facilitate member involvement in all aspects of the running of the program. Rehabilitation Support Workers respond to the needs and problems of members with practical guidance and advice geared toward realizing individual aspirations, cooperation with others and circumventing the effects of mental illness and social isolation. Support workers facilitate equal access to all opportunities regardless of the level of disability ensuring every member is able to contribute to the program through meaningful activity.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum Certificate IV Community Services with experience in the field of Mental Health Degree qualifications or working towards them also accepted.
Understanding of and/or experience working under a strengths based recovery model
Experience in direct sipport within Mental Health an advantage
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Must be willing to participate in some weekend and evening shifts to support social recreation and wider program requirments
Mental Health First Aid or willingness to undertake
Senior First Aid or willingness to undertake
Unrestricted Driver's Licence and access to a registered and roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Police Check
Working with Children Positive Notice QLD (Blue Card)
Disability Services Criminal History Screening QLD (Yellow Card)
