Key duties:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in art and media studies to secondary students in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Developing curriculum materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with educational standards and student learning objectives.
  • Providing instruction in various art mediums, techniques, and concepts, such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, film, and digital media.
  • Facilitating student exploration and experimentation with different artistic styles, processes, and technologies.
  • Supporting students in developing their creative and critical thinking skills, as well as their ability to analyse and interpret visual media.
  • Providing constructive feedback on student work and assessing their progress through assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on developments in the field of art and media education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Visual Arts and Media desirable
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
