We strongly believe and understand that our locums are a vital part of the Support Worker desk team, and quite frankly there would be no team to manage without each and every one of you. As such, each month I will be identifying a different locum to answer a few questions on what drives them as a Support Worker, how they approach their work and of course a little bit about their relationship with Tradewind.

First up we have Melanie Assetta.

What motivates you to be a support worker?

The motivation comes from doing something that I enjoy. It can be something as simple as seeing my clients smile when I arrive

How do you add value to your service?

By making sure I am customising my approach for each person and using any spare time I have with them to offer extra help wherever I can. It may just be sitting with them for a little longer for a coffee and a chat.

What are some methods you use to wind down after a stressful day?

After a long day at work, I like to take my dog for a walk to wind down or arrange to see my family and friends.

Thinking of your time at Tradewind, would you recommend us to others? Why?

I would definitely recommend Tradewind to anyone looking for work. The support and kindness from the staff is amazing and it’s nice that you give us feedback.

Which do you prefer, coffee or tea? Explain

I like tea and coffee, I suppose I drink more coffee though. I have a variety of each haha.
