Company History

Our history is a testament to our success as a leading education and social work recruitment agency in Victoria, a journey that started a couple of decades ago.

2000

Tradewind opened in Melbourne

Tradewind opened in Melbourne, with the sole focus on assisting qualified teachers, healthcare professionals and social worker across Australia and New Zealand, prepare for and secure work throughout London and its surrounding areas.

2007

Melbourne business expanded

Our Melbourne business expanded and we began social work recruitment within Melbourne. We recognised a shortage of organisations providing recruitment services to the social work sector, and with quality, experienced social workers returning home, we began recruiting for organisations across Melbourne.

2009

Began registering and placing primary and secondary teachers

Following the roaring success of social work recruitment in Melbourne, and in keeping with the focus in the UK, we began registering and placing primary and secondary teachers into CRT jobs within schools across Melbourne.

2010

Office move

Education grew at a break-neck pace and we moved to an office three times the size to fit the rapidly expanding social work and education teams.

2011

1st PD

We also recognised a lack of professional development opportunities available for CRTs and created our first Professional Development to help support the growth of our teachers. We rebrand to Tradewind Australia in line with our focus on domestic recruitment.

2012

Office move

Another office move to space double the size to house our growing staff. We continue to add to our professional development offerings and launch our new website.

2015

Former Principal employed

A former Principal is employed to work with the education team to further improve our professional development and mentoring service for teachers.

Today

Office Expansion

Our office expansion into our former neighbour’s tenancy is in the planning stage to make space for the next period of growth. The goal is to have an office Google would be jealous of.
