Benjamin Depetro

Senior Education Consultant and Allocator

What do you do at Tradewind?

I am a candidate consultant and allocator. This means I'm the first port of call for our education staff in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. It's my job to ensure that our casual relief teachers have the information and tools they need to meet the high standards expected from the schools we work with. I do this by supporting our teachers with their day-to-day questions and requests. I also ensure they are getting consistent work that suits their skillset and experience, and that they are getting teaching opportunities in their preferred locations.

What's a valuable lesson you've learnt from your professional experience?

The most valuable lesson I've learnt from my experience is that honesty and accountability is the cornerstone of maintaining professional relationships.

Which of Tradewind's Core Values resonates with you the most and why?

Our word is our bond.

I think it is important to follow through and be accountable for our own words and actions.

What are three words you would use to describe yourself?

Reliable. Honest. Efficient.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is...

Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard.
