Casual locum contract with immediate start!
2 shifts per week (Sunday and Monday 11am to 7pm)
$44.94-$98.09 per hour *casual penalty rates
Mens Hostel in Bundaberg
As a Cook, you will be responsible for developing and preparing nutritionally balanced meals that cater to the diverse needs of our clients. You will ensure that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served according to food safety guidelines. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and working alongside the head chef who works during the week.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and prepare meal plans that cater to diverse client needs.
* Prepare and cook daily meals according to relevant food safety guidelines.
* Maintain all food safety records and documentation to comply with legislative and auditing requirements.
* Ensure cleanliness of food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils.
* Report any safety or maintenance issues to senior staff as required.
* Support a culture of safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
* Current food safety qualification.
* Previous experience as a Cook.
* Understanding of hygienic and professional standards of food safety, including preparation, storage, and delivery.
* Knowledge of relevant food safety guidelines, legislative requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work within set guidelines and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.
