Tradewind is currently working with Emerge Women & Children's Support Network, a specialist family violence service in Melbourne's Southern Region for over 40years, offering a diverse range of accommodation and support to women and children experiencing family/domestic violence.

We are accepting applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer who will be responsible for the leadership and management of Emerge. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors, and all staff are accountable to the CEO directly or indirectly. The CEO will instil values based practices with the following key duties and responsibilities:

  • Revenue generation
  • Operations and Program Management
  • Financial Management
  • People and Culture
  • Staff Development and Supervision
  • Partnerships and Public Advocacy
  • Quality and Standards

The suitable applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing community services with sound knowledge of the family violence sector including current policy directions, funding mechanisms, cross agency relations, challenges and critical issues facing the sector
  • Experience in supporting and delivering the strategic priorities of a Board and an ability to translate strategy into pragmatic, commercially oriented initiatives, activities or programs with measurable outcomes and targets
  • Experience in securing funding and developing strategies to diversify and strengthen funding
  • Collaborative leadership skills with experience building and leading a highly skilled and committed professional team in a complex community setting
  • Previous experience at CEO level or senior manager or executive level in a large organisation'
  • Tertiary (ideally post graduate) qualifications in a related field

You will also have or be willing to obtain a Police Check, a Working with Children's Check, and be able to provide 2 professional referees.
