Overview

Play a crucial role within our client's SRSS program, assisting clients through significant life transitions. These Clinicians will be integral in helping clients develop coping strategies, reduce the impact of these transitions, and ensure their smooth progress. Focused on the safety and well-being of asylum seekers and refugees, these roles require delivering high-quality assessments, consultation, and referral services aimed at fostering mental health improvements and helping clients achieve their goals while awaiting visa decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical support for clients navigating life's challenges.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to tailor support to individual needs.
  • Guide clients through major life transitions, ensuring smooth community integration.
  • Train and support staff in therapeutic approaches and incident management.
  • Uphold a judgment-free environment and deliver services with integrity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service quality for enhanced client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with care teams and advocate for clients' needs externally.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, with a current registration or eligibility for registration with the professional body or Psychology board of Australia to practice as a psychologist.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with agencies that support people with complex and challenging needs such as with mental health services, GPs, Psychiatrists, or other statutory or community-based services.
  • Demonstrated experience operating within both internal and external Clinical Governance frameworks.
  • Willing and eager to provide clinical interventions and case management support in an engaging, flexible and client focused recovery approach, and in a range of settings including outreach in rural areas and/or via e-health platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing client-centred / family-centred interventions.
  • Experience working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds (desirable)
  • Experience working in a culturally sensitive manner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a willingness to work and train in culturally appropriate approaches.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
