Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Spatial Information Officer to join our local council. As a Spatial Information Officer, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing geospatial data to support our project initiatives.
Your role will involve/ Key requirements.
- Collecting, interpreting, and analyzing spatial data from various sources.
- Developing and maintaining GIS databases and systems. (experience in GIS is essential)
- Ability to resolve data conflicts logically and consistently.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate spatial data into project planning and decision-making processes.
- Maintenance of the GIS data to meet the needs of Council Data input to a high degree of accuracy
- Ensuring data accuracy, quality control, and compliance with standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Spatial Information Systems or a related field
- Solid experience in GIS with a thorough understanding of spatial concepts and relationships
- Solid experience in the use of New South Wales (NSW) spatial services digital cadastral databases (DCDB) and their relationship to the Council's spatial dataset will be highly regarded.
