Family Engagement Worker (Aboriginal Identified Position)
Located in Melton
Salary range - $85,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role: As a Family Engagement Worker, you will provide essential case management, practical assistance, and family strengthening support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with children in early years programs. You'll work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander agencies to promote the safety and wellbeing of these communities. ๐ค๐โค๏ธ

Key Duties:
- Provide a high quality family support and case management service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and their families.
- Identify gaps in the services required by families and contribute to the ongoing review and development of an integrated and responsive service.
- Support parents in their parenting role and capture the client voice.
- Participate in facilitation of group work which supports the Melton Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, including warm referrals and brief intervention work.
- Complete initial and ongoing risk and wellbeing assessment and as appropriate consult with Child Protection, Aboriginal and other culturally specific services
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in working and engaging with Aboriginal families and children within the child and family sector, particularly those involved with child protection.
- Proven case work and case management skills
- Well-developed skills in assessing risks, needs and safety for children, young people and families
- Knowledge of services available to families in Melton
- Knowledge of child development and ability and experience in developing and delivering individual and group work sessions to children and parents
