We have partnered exclusively with our client to recruit a Family Support Manager for a 12-month contract based in the Guildford region. They are dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Support Manager with expertise in child protection to lead our family support programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child welfare and a proven track record of working collaboratively with families, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote child safety and family resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of family support programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness in child protection.
- Case Management: Provide direct support and guidance to families, including conducting risk assessments, developing safety plans, and facilitating access to essential resources and services.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support a team of caseworkers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with child protection agencies, schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate services and address the needs of families effectively.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs of children and families within the organization and the broader community, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
- Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff on best practices in child protection and family support.
- Compliance: Ensure all programs and activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies, maintaining accurate and confidential case records.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in child protection, family support, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Skills: Strong understanding of child protection laws and best practices; excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in child protection or social work (e.g., LCSW, LPC) are preferred.
