About the Role

Tradewind is seeking Aboriginal women to join a supportive and culturally safe Family Violence team. The primary role is based at our Fairfield head office, with potential opportunities for other Aboriginal-identified roles in Western Melbourne.

These roles provide case management and holistic support to Aboriginal women and children experiencing or recovering from family violence. The work centres on healing, empowerment, and connection to culture, ensuring women and families are supported in a way that honours their voices, strengths, and community ties.

You'll:

  • Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed case management and advocacy.
  • Complete assessments, safety planning, and ongoing wellbeing support.
  • Work alongside women and families with care, respect, and cultural understanding.
  • Build strong partnerships with ACCOs, Elders, and community networks.
  • Promote safety, healing, and self-determination.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking Aboriginal-identified women with strong community connections and a genuine passion for supporting other Aboriginal women and families.

You'll bring:

  • A qualification (Diploma or higher) in community services, social work, or a related field - or equivalent experience supporting women and families.
  • Experience or transferable skills from family violence, homelessness, child and family services, housing, or AOD sectors.
  • Understanding of intergenerational trauma, kinship systems, and the importance of culture in healing.
  • The ability to walk alongside women with empathy, strength, and respect.
