Job Summary: We are working with an independent Jewish school who are seeking a Full-time Kindergarten Teacher on a one year fixed term contract, to commence in May 2024.

About the Role:


We are recruiting for a qualified Kindergarten Teacher to work in an inclusive Jewish College (K-12), in the heart of Hawthorn. This is an independent school with a strong community ethos and a curriculum program inspired by Reggio Emilia.


Key duties:

  • Base teaching on best theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of each student's development, skills and interest.
  • Identify and cater for individual learner needs, collaborating with other teachers and specialist staff in the College.
  • Provide an environment that promotes the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing of all students.
  • Work closely with parents regarding the progress and development of their children.
  • Participate in the creation, development and evaluation of curriculum.
  • Design lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of the content
  • Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks.
  • Keep confidential records, respond to inquiries, and promote the centre professionally.
  • Actively participate in the integrated team, ensuring compliance with policies, Child Safe Standards, and the Australian Early Childhood Association Code of Ethics.


Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood Education (or ACEQUA equivalency)
  • Current VIT registration
  • Previous/current experience as a Kindergarten Teacher in Australia - minimum 2 years as Kinder Teacher required for this position
  • Satisfactory Police and Working with Children checks
