Operations Manager

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to lead children and family services across the Kimberley. This role will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and people management to ensure high-quality, child-safe, and culturally responsive services. Based in the Kimberley Region you'll be instrumental in strengthening team cohesion, mentoring managers, and driving positive outcomes for children, young people, and families in the region.

Key Duties

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers, caseworkers, and youth workers across multiple sites.

  • Ensure services are child-safe, compliant, and culturally responsive, with a strong focus on Aboriginal partnerships.

  • Oversee operational delivery, budgets, and reporting requirements, ensuring quality standards and contractual obligations are met.

  • Build strong relationships with local agencies, government departments, and community stakeholders.

  • Drive service improvement, policy implementation, and organisational development initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in the community services sector, with significant management and supervisory experience.

  • Strong background in out-of-home care, family support, complex care, disability services, or related fields.

  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, drive cohesion, and implement policies and procedures effectively.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Current driver's licence, ability to travel across the Kimberley, and willingness to participate in an on-call roster.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services or a related discipline.

  • Experience working in remote or regional communities.

  • Strong financial and operational management skills, including reporting and compliance oversight.
