Team Leader - Aboriginal Identified (The Orange Door)
Relocation opportunity - Outer Eastern Suburbs Melbourne
We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal Identified Team Lead for an exciting opportunity. You will guide a multidisciplinary Aboriginal team in delivering culturally safe, high-quality responses to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families impacted by family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practice leadership, supervision, and day-to-day support to the Aboriginal team within The Orange Door (TOD).
- Manage team performance, rosters, and ensure consistent, culturally informed service delivery.
- Lead case planning and manage a small caseload.
- Support intake and assessment processes and offer expert advice on complex cases.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including Victoria Police, Child Protection, and community services.
- Ensure completion of risk assessments in line with MARAM framework.
- Lead staff development, onboarding, and supervision, and identify training needs.
- Maintain accurate client records and data reporting.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, community services, or related field, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly in the context of family violence.
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in managing teams and stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Child Safe Standards and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic).
- Excellent communication, decision-making and cultural competency skills.
Conditions of Employment:

- Completion of MARAM Tier 1 training (or willingness to undertake)
