Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Regional Community Development Officer to play a key role in supporting community organisations, with a particular focus on sporting clubs and local initiatives. This role involves working closely with grassroots sports organisations, leagues, and associations to implement evidence-based programs that promote wellbeing and reduce harm. If you are a confident facilitator with a strong background in community engagement and sports-based development, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a regional team to deliver AOD prevention programs effectively and in line with state and national priorities

  • Build and maintain partnerships with local government, community organisations, health services, and sporting bodies

  • Oversee planning, monitoring, and reporting of program outcomes

  • Support staff recruitment, professional development, and performance management

  • Represent programs at events, forums, and community workshops

What we're looking for:

  • Degree qualification in health promotion, community development, social sciences, or a related field

  • Experience leading and delivering community-based health or prevention programs

  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and community consultation

  • Proven ability to manage teams, set priorities, and achieve program outcomes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills

  • Willingness to travel within ACT and occasionally interstate
