About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate Physical Education and Health teacher to join a supportive Catholic school community in Keilor, commencing in Term 3. Teaching students across Years 7-10, you will be part of a collaborative and dedicated team focused on fostering student wellbeing, engagement, and personal growth. This contract position offers the potential for ongoing opportunities within a dynamic and community-oriented school environment.


Key duties:

  • Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
  • Teach a range of topic related to physical education including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health and personal development.
  • Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
  • Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
  • Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
  • Assessing students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Current/valid VIT registration (or in the application process)
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching PE in Australia/NZ
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
  • Uphold the highest quality of child protection
