Tradewind is proud to be partnering with a respected organisation advocating for Muslim women and families to recruit a culturally informed Specialist Cultural Adviser.

This embedded role spans The Orange Door network and partner sites, providing expert cultural guidance and leadership to family violence practitioners and integrated service teams.


๐Ÿ”‘ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert cultural advice to support Muslim victim-survivors, children, youth, and people using violence (PUV)

  • Deliver culturally sensitive, faith-aware, and trauma-informed guidance across integrated family violence services

  • Strengthen access to support for Muslim communities and improve safety and wellbeing outcomes

  • Promote cultural humility and inclusive practice within multidisciplinary teams

  • Advocate against systemic and interpersonal racism and bias

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships across complex service environments

  • Support practitioners in working effectively with both victim-survivors and perpetrators

  • 1 day at Werribee Orange Door

  • 2 days at Broadmeadows Orange Door

  • 1 day at the organisation's Melbourne office (Thursday)

  • 1 day working from home (Friday)


๐ŸŽ“ About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:
โœ… Identify as Muslim, with a strong faith background
โœ… Training in the MARAM Framework
โœ… Lived experience and cultural knowledge to support inclusive, community-led responses
โœ… Strong understanding of the family violence system and dynamic risk factors
โœ… Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field
โœ… Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse services and advocate for culturally responsive practice
