Job Description

Purpose

  • Facilitate the independence of clients through the provision of Speech Pathology services.
  • Provide 1:1 intervention, group intervention, consultation or home programming for acquired or developmental communication delays and disorders (e.g. articulation, phonology, language, voice and fluency) in accordance with the client's needs.
  • Maintain a high standard of clinical documentation which meets the standards of the employer. This includes, but is not limited to; maintenance of files, documentation, accurate use of Cliniko including session notes, invoicing, receipts, appointment bookings and following up cancellation/rescheduling.

Responsibilities:

Speech Pathologist: Paediatric Caseload (ages 0-16)

  • Initial and review assessments
  • Ongoing therapy
  • Parent training
  • Preschool/school staff training
  • Assisting with writing and updating policies and procedures
  • Taking and booking new referrals
  • Helping with content for social media
  • Case meetings
  • Assisting with updating policies and procedures
  • Planning and running group therapy programs
  • Email/phone consultations with other relevant people involved with caring for the client
  • Clinic, preschool, school and home therapy appointments
  • Clinic notes/Cliniko data - these must be completed within 24 hours of seeing a client
  • Report writing - all reports and written documentation should be provided to the family within two weeks of the assessment or request for a report
  • Development of resources
  • Ongoing professional development and attendance at team meetings
  • Active participation in team meetings and supervision meetings
  • Provision of a high standard of customer service to all clients and their families
  • Attendance at training courses
  • Maintain Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist status and Speech Pathology Australia membership annually
  • Education and liaison with relevant carers, health and education professionals and clients, including attendance at case conferences or site visits when necessary
  • Ensure that the physical properties at Talk-Time Speech Pathology are kept in good order

Skills, Qualifications, Abilities and Knowledge required:

Minimum requirement: Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology
