Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech Pathologist to join our team of twelve. As a Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. You will work with clients of all ages, from children to adults, in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practices.

Conduct functional and standardised assessments and interventions with children and adults with reference to feeding, language skills and alternative or augmentative communication, that promotes the individual's quality and enjoyment of life, potential and positive experiences within the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments to diagnose speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans to address clients' needs and goals.
  • Implementing therapy interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Providing counseling and education to clients and their families regarding speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, educators, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Keeping detailed records of clients' progress and treatment outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Speech Pathology and membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Clear understanding of Disability Inclusion Act 2014 and NSW Disability Standards.
  • Experience working in a similar role, we are flexible in our level of experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience when working with clients and their families.

Please note: The role involves home visit and a car and driver's license are essential for the role.
