Team Leader- Financial Services
SCHADS 6.1 | Full-Time | $55.73/hour + Salary Packaging | Based in Kingaroy QLD

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected not-for-profit organisation in the South Burnett region seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Leader to lead its finance function. This is a full-time, leadership role based in Kingaroy, supporting a diverse portfolio of community services across the region.

As the Accounting Team Leader, you will oversee a team of Finance Officers and be responsible for the delivery of core financial functions including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. You will work closely with the organisation's executive and program managers to support budget oversight, reporting accuracy, and continuous improvement in financial systems and service outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support a high-performing finance team

  • Oversee payroll, accounts, banking, reconciliations, and financial compliance

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including board and audit documentation

  • Collaborate with operational managers to build and monitor budgets and financial forecasts

  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, FBT, salary packaging and audit standards

  • Drive process improvement and ensure documentation of finance policies and procedures

  • Coordinate end-of-month and year-end processes including liaising with external auditors

  • Maintain oversight of financial systems, digital records and key financial data


Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in finance, business or accounting roles

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing finance staff

  • Advanced skills in MYOB or equivalent accounting software

  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, salary packaging and FBT

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • CPA/CA qualified or working towards (desirable)

  • Previous experience in a community or not-for-profit setting highly regarded


The Offer

  • Level 6 SCHADS Award - $55.73/hour + super + salary packaging

  • Full-time role (38 hours/week) with flexibility in start/finish times between 6:00am - 8:00pm
