Salary - $90,000 - $127,000 + Super + Leadership level 1 allowance.

About the role:
Mathematics Teachers are responsible for designing and delivering innovative teaching programs aligned with the College Learning Culture, policies, and practices. They support students in developing their knowledge, understanding and skills in mathematics and working mathematically. Mathematics Teachers encourage mathematical thinking through questioning, communicating, reasoning, and reflecting and help students generalise, find connections, and think critically and creatively, using appropriate technology to support mathematical activity. Mathematics Teachers work as part of a team to nurture and develop learners who are relational, reflective, resilient, and resourceful. They are committed to continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence.
Key responsibilities:
In addition to teaching and associated responsibilities, this position receives a 4 period allocation for a combination of some of the following, as suited to the skillset of the applicant and the needs of the Department. The successful candidate may assist the relevant Department to:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate teaching and learning programs that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students across a range of abilities, including the development of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Adhere to all curriculum expectations and deadlines as set out by NESA and the College.
- Align teaching practices and curriculum with the Christian faith.
- Gather NCCD-related evidence as part of ongoing processes and structures.
- Create and maintain a positive and engaging learning space for the students.
- Carry out administrative duties, such as setting up assessments or entering marks in Edumate and CANVAS.
- Network with departments from other schools.
- Support new teachers/teachers new to the College.
Skills and Attributes:
- Have a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and regularly attend a Christian church.
- Accept the College's Statement of Faith and live a lifestyle consistent with this.
- Extensive skills in the use of ICT, particularly Microsoft programs, CANVAS and Edumate (or a willingness to be trained in these platforms).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a range of people, including staff, students, parents, and community members.
Qualifications/Accreditation
- A degree in Education (Secondary from a recognised tertiary institution such as: A Bachelor of Education (Secondary)A Bachelor of Mathematics with a Master of Teaching (Secondary) or a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary)
- Accreditation with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- A valid WWCC number
- First Aid Certificate (or a willingness to get one)
