Job Description
We are recruiting for Child and Family Locum Practitioners to work in Family Services and Out of Home Care. Multiple short term roles available across Melbourne with the aim to enhance the safety, wellbeing and stability of children and family unit.
You will:
Providing a rapid, intensive, wraparound response to meet the safety and developmental needs of children/young people and support the needs of parents
Work intensively with children, young people and families to support the family preservation
Work flexibly and collaboratively with stakeholders
Facilitate referrals to additional services as required, for matters such as Family Violence, Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health, Disability and Trauma.
Provide a case management and case work service to clients of the Out of Home Care Program
Liaise with birth families regarding their children in kinship/foster care
Participate in and contribute to program development and innovation
Commitment to the safety, well-being and best interests of children and young people, and duty of care in the prevention, identification, and response to child abuse
You must have:
A degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related tertiary qualification relevant to child and family welfare
Previous experience working with children, youth & families
Demonstrated experience in family engagement and assertive outreach case management
The ability to assess and respond to risk for children and young people
