Clinical Practitioner - Mental Health

Pay: SCHADS Level 7 - $119,000 + super (experience-based)
Location: Upper Hunter Location

Employment Type: Full time (mixture of fixed shifts, including some evenings & weekends)

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a reputable Mental Health & Wellbeing service to recruit a Clinical Practitioner for their Head to Health team. This role offers a mix of assessment, intervention, and coordinated care within a collaborative clinical environment.


About the Role

As a Clinical Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality intake, assessment, intervention and referral services to participants experiencing psychological distress, mental health concerns, and co-occurring AOD challenges.
You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team and contribute to a stepped-care model designed to promote recovery, safety, and wellbeing.

Approximately 80% of work is delivered from the Musswellbrook hub, with some outreach to Singleton and Scone.
The roster includes some evening shifts (12pm-8pm) and regular weekend therapeutic consultations (12pm-4pm).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred clinical intake, assessment and intervention

  • Deliver evidence-based psychological therapies in a recovery-oriented context

  • Conduct risk assessments, crisis intervention and safety planning

  • Provide holistic assessments, counselling, intensive case management, and group work where required

  • Participate in multidisciplinary care reviews and contribute to coordinated care plans

  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes, clinical documentation, and reports

  • Build collaborative relationships with AOD services, local health services, primary care, emergency responders and other community agencies

  • Support governance, WHS compliance, performance reporting and continuous improvement activitie


What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work (with Mental Health accreditation)

  • Current AHPRA or AASW registration

  • Minimum 2+ years of supervised experience in mental health and/or AOD

  • Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions

  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred and recovery-oriented practice

  • Experience contributing to multi-agency case reviews with psychologists, psychiatrists, allied health and government/non-government partners

  • High-level communication, engagement, documentation and conflict-resolution skills

  • Ability to manage complex workloads and competing priorities in a dynamic service environment

Desirable

  • Experience supporting individuals with dual diagnosis or complex presentations

  • Experience in program quality assurance, feedback-informed treatment or risk management

  • Familiarity with stepped care models and community-based mental health systems
