Coordinator - Homestay & Immediate Housing Response

Pay: SCHADS Level 6 + super + salary packaging + remote allowance + sign-on bonus
Location: Mount Isa, QLD
Employment Type: Contract

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation delivering housing, homelessness, family and community services across regional and remote North Queensland. We are seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to lead a frontline team delivering immediate housing responses and tenancy support for individuals and families experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

About the Role

As Coordinator - Homestay & Immediate Housing Response, you will act as the local program lead, overseeing service delivery across crisis accommodation, immediate housing response and tenancy sustainment supports. You will lead and support a team of Case Workers and Associate Case Workers, ensuring high-quality, compliant and culturally safe service delivery.

Working closely with internal leaders and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in strengthening housing pathways for First Nations peoples, families impacted by domestic and family violence, young families, older people, and individuals living in unsafe or unsuitable housing conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support a multidisciplinary team of Case Workers and Associate Case Workers
  • Coordinate service delivery, caseloads, workflows and team rosters
  • Oversee program reporting, documentation, evaluation and funding compliance
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with organisational standards, funding agreements and legislative requirements
  • Provide case management oversight and crisis intervention support where required
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local stakeholders, community services and government departments
  • Represent the program locally and contribute to broader organisational leadership and operational planning
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance development and supervision of staff
  • Monitor risk, compliance, quality systems and continuous improvement processes

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • Degree in Social Work, Human Services or Behavioural Sciences
  • OR Certificate IV in Community Services (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership or senior case management role
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams within housing, homelessness or community services
  • Strong understanding of case management frameworks, crisis intervention and housing support systems
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, funding body requirements and culturally safe practice
  • Strong written, verbal communication and reporting skills
  • Current open driver's licence
  • Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Yellow Card (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable

  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Background in community services, outreach or faith-based organisations
  • Experience working in rural or remote service environments
