Our client is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. They provide a range of essential services, including Foster Care, Residential Care, Youth & Family Services, Domestic and Family Violence Services, and Disability Services throughout the South Burnett region.

Position Overview
As a Domestic and Family Violence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the Wondin-dee Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Service. This position involves providing tailored support to women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, ensuring their safety and wellbeing through a collaborative approach. You will also work alongside the Kingaroy Police Station, offering specialised support to victim-survivors on-site.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, counselling, or psychology, with relevant experience in domestic and family violence situations. You should be able to navigate complex client issues while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Minimum 3-year degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Proven experience working with high-risk domestic violence situations
- Strong understanding of the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012
- Ability to engage with diverse clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
- Ability to create and deliver resources and training programs
- Case notes compilation, safety plans, risk assessments, and support plans experience
- Queensland driver's licence
- First Aid and CPR Certificates or ability to acquire
- Working with Children Blue Card
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
Additionally, candidates must demonstrate excellent time management skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A commitment to cultural sensitivity and the principles are essential.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary of $44.58 per hour, classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS) at Social and Community Services Worker Level 4. Salary packaging options are available to enhance your overall remuneration.
