Salary Range: $79589 - $118063
Location:

Employment Type: Full Time, Ongoing

Opening Summary / Hook

Tradewind Australia is proud to partner with a respected Christian College near Werribee to recruit an experienced and passionate Digitech teacher. This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-driven school community committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing and holistic education.

Join a thriving and values-driven secondary school in Melbourne's Western Suburbs, where education is centred on both academic growth and the holistic development of every student. This is an opportunity for a passionate educator to be part of a collaborative and supportive teaching community, committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based learning in a positive and inclusive environment. Teachers here are empowered to innovate in the classroom, build meaningful relationships with students, and contribute to a culture that prioritises wellbeing, engagement and continuous improvement.

About the School

This school is a well-established, values-based secondary college located in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. It is known for its strong sense of community, supportive staff culture and commitment to student wellbeing. The school provides a structured and inclusive learning environment, with a focus on academic growth, personal development and fostering respectful, positive relationships across its diverse student cohort.

Grounded in a strong faith and service-oriented tradition, the school places a meaningful emphasis on social justice, compassion and the development of the whole person. Staff are part of a collaborative professional learning culture, where reflective practice, evidence-based teaching and shared responsibility for student success are highly valued. The school also encourages active engagement in co-curricular and community initiatives, creating a dynamic environment where both students and staff are supported to grow and contribute beyond the classroom.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Digital Technologies teacher to take ownership of a predominantly Year 7 and 8 Digitech program within a supportive secondary setting. The role offers a full teaching load in Digital Technologies, with flexibility for additional methods depending on the candidate's experience.

A key focus of the position is the ongoing development and refinement of the Digital Technologies curriculum, making it ideal for a teacher who has experience working in this space and is confident designing and implementing engaging, contemporary programs. The successful candidate will bring the ability to develop their own teaching resources and contribute to a cohesive, future-focused curriculum aligned to current best practice.

Digital Technologies is a core subject in the junior years, with strong student engagement and full classes capped at 25 students. This role would suit an educator who is passionate about the subject area, confident in curriculum design, and eager to make a meaningful impact on a growing and evolving program.

Benefits

  • Full-time, permanent role in a growing, values-driven secondary school
  • Small class sizes (max 25) with high student engagement
  • Strong staff support including mentors, instructional coaches, and collaborative teams
  • Opportunities for professional growth and potential leadership pathways
  • Modern facilities, including full gym and well-resourced classrooms

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a full Year 7-8 Digital Technologies program, developing engaging, contemporary lessons
  • Revamp and maintain the Digital Technologies curriculum, creating and implementing original resources
  • Monitor and assess student learning, providing timely feedback and adapting programs as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative curriculum across year levels
  • Contribute to student wellbeing through pastoral care and classroom management
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and school events as required

You will have:

  • Relevant teaching qualifications and current VIT registration
  • Experience teaching Digital Technologies, ideally at the junior secondary level
  • Ability to design and implement your own curriculum and learning resources
  • Strong classroom management skills with a student-focused approach
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to engage with staff, students, and families
  • Passion for working in a fast-growing, dynamic school environment with opportunities to expand your role
