Family Violence Solicitor - Mallee Region
The Client
A well-regarded community legal service supporting vulnerable individuals across the region through integrated, early-intervention and trauma-informed practice. The service delivers legal assistance in partnership with maternal and child health services, family violence teams and broader community programs.
THE ROLE
- Provide legal advice, casework and court representation with a focus on family violence
- Work within an integrated practice alongside social workers, MCH teams and partner agencies
- Support referrals from maternal health services through the Mabels Program
- Engage in community legal education and stakeholder collaboration
- Participate in reviews, data reporting and reflective practice as part of a multidisciplinary team
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years' post-admission experience (not suitable for new graduates)
- Experience in family violence or family law, grounded in a trauma-informed approach
- Ability to work collaboratively in an integrated, multidisciplinary environment
- Strong communication skills and confidence managing sensitive client matters
- Open to candidates from diverse backgrounds; overseas applicants welcome (no sponsorship)
BENEFITS
- $95-$109K + Super. Salary packaging available under the EA
- Relocation assistance up to $3,000
- Full-time or 0.8 FTE (35 hours per week), 9am-5pm
