Pay: $40-45 per hour + super (experience-based)

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a reputable NDIS provider in Brisbane's north to recruit compassionate and capable Female Support Workers. These casual roles offer meaningful 1:1 support with a female participant who has complex mental health needs and may also require assistance with eating disorder routines (anorexia) and physical mobility (wheelchair use).

This is a person-centred role suited to someone calm, emotionally intelligent, reliable, and confident supporting both psychosocial wellbeing and practical daily needs in line with a structured support plan.

About the Role

As a Female Support Worker, you will provide consistent one-on-one support focused on independence, wellbeing, and community participation. You will follow an individualised care plan and work closely with the wider support team to ensure safe, respectful, and high-quality supports are delivered.

You'll play a key role in building trust, maintaining routine, and supporting the participant to engage safely in day-to-day life and community activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 support in-home and in the community (community access, appointments, activities)
Support social participation, independence-building, and daily routine
Implement mental health support strategies in line with the participant's plan
Provide calm emotional support, encouragement, and practical problem-solving
Support personal care and mobility needs (including wheelchair assistance where required)
Support meal routines and mealtime supervision in line with care plans (where required)
Complete accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the support team
Monitor wellbeing, identify concerns early, and report appropriately
Adhere to all NDIS quality, safety, and compliance standards

What You'll Bring

Essential

* Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health (or similar)
* Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs
* Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card / Working with Children Check
* Current First Aid and CPR
* Valid Australian driver licence and reliable vehicle
* Strong communication skills, empathy, professionalism, and sound judgement
* A genuine commitment to person-centred support and promoting independence

Desirable

Experience supporting eating disorder presentations (including mealtime support)
Experience supporting wheelchair users / physical disability
Experience with psychosocial support strategies, crisis awareness, and de-escalation skills
