Finance Officer - Accounts Receivable
Pay: SCHADS Level 3 - $38.65 per hour + super + salary packaging (experience-based)
Location: Kingaroy (South Burnett Region)
Employment Type: Full-time - 38 hours per week (flexible hours between 6.00am and 8.00pm)
Tradewind Australia is partnering with a respected not-for-profit community organisation supporting disadvantaged people across the South Burnett, to recruit a Finance Officer - Accounts Receivable.
This full-time role offers the opportunity to combine your finance skills with meaningful community impact, working within a supportive team that services programs including foster care, residential care, youth and family services, domestic and family violence services, disability services and social enterprise.
About the Role
As the Finance Officer - Accounts Receivable, you will work closely with the Financial Accountant and wider Finance and Corporate Services team to ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable and related finance functions.
While your primary focus will be on accounts receivable, you'll also provide backfill support across accounts payable and payroll during periods of staff leave, helping to keep core finance processes running smoothly.
You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting program teams, and contributing to continuous improvement in finance processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Generate and issue client and program invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Allocate receipts daily and reconcile customer accounts
- Monitor and follow up outstanding debtors, providing weekly debtor reports to internal stakeholders
- Enter rent receipts and reconcile the property management program to MYOB
- Reconcile bank accounts and support routine month-end processes
- Provide backfill for accounts payable, including invoice payment processing and credit card processing
- Provide backfill for payroll, including supporting end-to-end payroll services and timesheet processing in line with the Award
- Ensure accurate digitisation and filing of all finance records
- Assist the Finance team with general administrative duties and broader financial tasks as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance finance processes and outcomes
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the CEO, Financial Accountant and Finance and Corporate Services Manager, within the scope of the role
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Proficiency using MYOB or similar accounting software and online banking platforms
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft 365 skills (especially Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail, reliability and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks while maintaining quality outputs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional handling of sensitive information
- A customer service and business partnering mindset when supporting internal teams
- Ability to meet and maintain current or future legislative benchmark requirements
Desirable
- Qualifications and/or experience in business, accounting, or finance-related disciplines
- Experience in a not-for-profit, community services or similar environment
- Familiarity with SCHADS Award conditions and/or NDIS and human services standards
