About the Role:
Calling all dedicated Primary educators! Tradewind is working with a small, Independent Primary School in Williamstown to present an exceptional teaching opportunity starting in term 2 and running until the year's end, with potential extension into the new year. This school fosters a culture where children are encouraged to explore, think empathetically, and act courageously, all within the framework of authentic, real-world learning experiences. We are seeking a teacher who is deeply passionate about progressive education and ready to make a substantial difference. You'll be working with students in the lower/middle Primary years, and you'll receive comprehensive handover support before starting. Key duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
- Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia
- Knowledge of the Australian curriculum and knowledge of issues in the real-world to create project-based experiences
- Current First Aid training
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
