As the Head of English Faculty, you will lead a talented team of educators, fostering excellence in teaching and learning across the English department. Your leadership and expertise will be key in developing an innovative curriculum that engages students, enhances critical thinking, and promotes a deep appreciation for the written and spoken word.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction for the English Faculty, cultivating a culture of academic excellence and creativity.
- Curriculum Development: Oversee the design and implementation of a comprehensive English curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students, with a focus on literature, language, and writing skills.
- Teaching Excellence: Mentor and support faculty members in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that encourage critical analysis, effective communication, and a love for reading and writing.
- Student Achievement: Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to excel in their English studies.
- Collaborative Integration: Work with other departments to integrate English language and literature across the curriculum, enriching the overall educational experience.
- Professional Development: Promote a culture of continuous learning by staying current with the latest trends in English education and providing professional growth opportunities for faculty members.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience as an English Teacher
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
