Job Description

About the role:

You will be leading a diverse, cohesive, and dedicated team of professionals, through modelling outstanding teaching and learning practices and by combining inquiry-based pedagogy with real world connections. This role will create opportunities for students to develop a passion for languages and an appreciation for different cultures alongside independent habits of lifelong learning. In addition, the role contributes significantly to the academic leadership within the school.

Key Duties:

  • Passionate and a contemporary team leader with a shared vision for high quality student-centred education.
  • Enthusiastic life-long learner who can contribute to a culture of continuous learning in professional practice
  • Innovative practitioner with a student-centred focus
  • Experience in teaching Languages across stages 4 to 6 with a strong focus on stage 6.

Skills & Experience:

  • Formal teaching qualifications in Languages
  • Current registration with NESA (including recent experience teaching in a classroom)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • Valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

Desirable:

  • Post graduate qualifications in Education Leadership or a specialty area
  • Highly Accomplished Teacher with Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Demonstrated experience in leading Teaching and Learning initiatives in a Secondary School landscape
  • Demonstrate professional knowledge through presenting and attending external workshops, conferences and leadership within a professional association.
  • Experience in teaching International Baccalaureate curriculum

Offering:

  • Attractive an above Agreement teaching salary between $117,132 - $133,748 plus a generous Leadership Level 2 allowance
  • Term 1 2025 start
  • Ongoing teaching role with an initial 3-year fixed term leadership component as Head of Faculty.
