About the Role:
An outstanding opportunity awaits a passionate Maths leader to join a fantastic independent school for 2025 near Mornington catering to students from P-12. The Mathematics Learning Leader is a visionary and strategic practitioner, responsible for leading a team of dedicated educators. Commencing at the start of the 2026 school year, this leadership role will inspire and foster a culture of continuous learning, while promoting and celebrating the Vision and Mission of the College. This position of leadership has a tenure of one year after which all positions of leadership will be re-advertised. The position is attached to a permanent teaching role.
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for leading the Mathematics department and driving innovative teaching practices to inspire our students.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to teach Years 7- VCE Mathematics. The ability to teach Specialist Math would be an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- The Learning Leader's major areas of responsibility include but are not limited to
- leading curriculum and program development and leading innovation in learning design, including documentation, implementation and evaluation of units and subjects within the Learning Area, that align with the VCAA Curriculum, Learning Principles of Padua's Learning and Teaching Framework and Padua's Instructional Model
- overseeing course provision to ensure exemplary pedagogy engages students in rigorous and relevant learning experiences that enhance their opportunities for success by embedding the Learning Principles of Padua's Learning and Teaching Framework and Padua's Instructional Model within the Learning Area
- overseeing the learning and teaching program and providing a formative environment for improved teacher performance in the Learning Area that is consistent with the AITSL Standards, Padua's Learning and Teaching Framework and Padua's Instructional Model
- performing the duties required to administer the Learning Area effectively
- performing other duties and implementing decisions as requested by the Principal or the College Improvement Team.
