We are looking for passionate Senior Youth Workers and Residential House Managers/Leaders to work directly with young people who are vulnerable and in need of assistance.
You will be the person in their lives to help them build life skills, healthy attachments, and most importantly be there for them when they need you the most. You will work through tough times and challenges together, knowing that the ultimate outcome is guiding them to live a fulfilled and independent life.

Travel around the Brisbane region will be essential for this role - from Warner in North to Drewvale and Forest Lakes in the South.
Case Managers with Safe Places undertake frontline shifts caring for young people and are expected to perform all duties associated with the youth worker role and the specific Case manager responsibilities which include:
- Supervising a team of youth worker professionals, including facilitation of team meetings and performance management as needed
- Undertaking case management tasks such as rostering, case planning, and case inductions
- Providing on-call support and professional advice
- Liaising with key support agencies and stakeholders
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality care that results in positive outcomes for the child, such as:
- Building relationships and life skills
- Engagement in education
- Improved health and hygiene
- Working within organisational policies, procedures, and values, and contributing to the continual improvement of Safe Places services

Essential requirements
- A minimum 2 years' experience working with children with challenging behaviours, such as verbal and physical aggression, in a residential setting or in care
- Ability to do shift work and in-home sleepovers
- Ability to accommodate roster changes and on call requirements at short notice. We endeavour to complete rosters up to two weeks in advance, though changes may occur due to the nature of the work.
- Ability to participate in team meetings, staff meetings, training and supervision, as required
- Knowledge of issues facing children in the out-of-home care sector, the impact of childhood abuse and trauma, and crisis management techniques
- Understanding of case management model in the residential care setting
- An understanding of the intensive nature of working with young people and the possible impacts on the employee's family and personal responsibilities
- Ability to work autonomously in an isolated environment, supported by established procedures
- Ability to supervise team members and establish effective team processes and systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, networking, and ability to draft shift reports
- Strong organisational and time management skills
The successful applicant will have:
- Min of Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or equivalent
- Experience in Case Management and Residential House Management
- Experience managing teams of youth workers
- Experience managing a house and rosters
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Australian Drivers Licence
- Full Working Rights in Australia
- A positive and resilient attitude
