Crisis Support Worker (Men's Hostel)
Pay:
* Casual: $49.70 per hour + penalty rates
* Full-time: $40.42 per hour + super + salary packaging
Location: Toowoomba, QLD
Employment Type: Two vacancies available - Casual and Permanent Full-time
Shifts:
* Casual: Mon-Sun | 6:00am-2:00pm or 2:00pm-10:00pm
* Full-time: Rotating roster (flexibility required across a 7-day roster)
Tradewind Australia is recruiting Crisis Support Workers for a respected homelessness service in Toowoomba. Two opportunities are available in the same program/team: a casual option for short-notice shifts and a permanent full-time position for someone seeking stability and ongoing impact.
In this role, you'll support men experiencing or at risk of homelessness through end-to-end support from intake to exit. You'll deliver case management, advocacy, referrals and goal planning to help clients access safe, affordable, stable accommodation and build the skills to sustain it.
You'll work autonomously at times, but you'll always be part of a tight, supportive crew.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide holistic end-to-end client support from intake through to exit
* Undertake strengths-based assessments, risk assessments and safety planning
* Develop and review client-centred case plans in line with policy and program requirements
* Deliver case management, advice, referrals, and advocacy using specialist homelessness databases
* Support clients to build independence, self-reliance and connection to community supports
* Provide practical and emotional support that is proactive, persistent, reliable and respectful
* Maintain timely, accurate documentation and reporting in the relevant database
* Contribute to WHS compliance, a safe workplace culture and continuous improvement
* Additional duties (as required by program), may include:
* Tenancy tasks (agreements, payments, inspections)
* Facility support (housekeeping, food prep with food safety standards)
* Reception/admin tasks and property/maintenance reporting
What You'll Bring
Essential
* Cert III (minimum) in Community Services or related field
* Experience in homelessness support, crisis accommodation, or relevant crisis-response support
* Calm, trauma-aware practice with strong boundaries and dignity-first approach
* Strong advocacy skills and respect for confidentiality
* Effective communication, time management, and risk awareness
* Ability to work unsupervised at times and contribute positively in a team
* Current Police Check and current Driver's Licence
Desirable
* Knowledge of legislation/guidelines relevant to Specialist Homelessness Services
* Experience supporting adults with complex needs and tenancy sustainment work
* COVID-19 vaccination is recommended (not mandatory)
