Job Description

Team Leader: Crisis Accommodation & Outreach

Pay: $110,000 + super and salary packaging
Location: Logan and Brisbane region
Employment Type: Full-time

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a respected community housing and family support service to recruit an experienced and values-driven Team Leader. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to lead frontline crisis accommodation and outreach-based case management services supporting women and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who leads from the front, coaches practice in the field, and is motivated by real client impact and service quality.

About the Role

As Team Leader, you will provide frontline leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering crisis accommodation and intensive, outreach-based case management across Brisbane and Logan. The service supports women and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with a strong focus on securing sustainable housing and addressing the underlying drivers of housing breakdown, including wellbeing, mental health, family violence, financial stress, parenting capacity, substance use and access to healthcare.

A core part of this role is leading a team to deliver support that is culturally safe, respectful and grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing. You will be expected to build strong relationships with community, Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led services, and to guide staff practice in a way that strengthens cultural safety and client trust.

You will lead practice quality, staff development and operational performance while maintaining a strong focus on client safety, engagement and outcomes. The role is community-based and requires regular outreach work.

Benefits:

  • $110,000 + super
  • Salary packaging available
  • Professional development and leadership coaching
  • Supportive leadership culture with strong practice focus
  • Opportunity to influence service quality and client outcomes at scale

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead referral, intake and triage processes to ensure timely and appropriate access to service
  • Provide frontline leadership in high-risk and complex client situations
  • Coach staff in empowerment-based, culturally responsive case management practice
  • Ensure staff meet minimum caseload, documentation and safety standards
  • Oversee client risk management, safety planning and escalation processes
  • Monitor performance and outcomes through data, file audits and supervision
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders across housing, health, child safety and community services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community stakeholders, and support pathways that uphold cultural integrity and self-determination
  • Contribute to operational planning, forecasting and continuous service improvement
  • Foster a strong, values-based team culture focused on client outcomes

What You'll Bring

Essential
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant social services field with at least 4 years' case management experience (family support, child protection, youth support, housing or related), or

* Strong coaching, supervision and practice leadership skills
* Ability to manage risk and complex client situations with sound professional judgement
* High level of organisational skills and a data-informed approach to performance and outcomes
* Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities, with a commitment to culturally safe practice
