Housing Case Manager - Immediate Housing Response
Pay: SCHADS 4.1+ casual loading and super
Location: Southport, Gold Coast
Employment Type: Locum contract | Immediate start to 30 June 2026
Tradewind Australia is partnering with a well-regarded community services organisation to recruit locum Housing Case Managers within the Immediate Housing Response program on the Gold Coast. Based in Southport, these frontline roles offer the opportunity to support highly vulnerable singles, couples and families who are accessing emergency hotel accommodation while working toward safer, longer-term housing outcomes.
About the Role
As a Housing Case Manager, you will provide intensive, client-centred case management to people experiencing homelessness or acute housing crisis. Working within a fast-paced and highly responsive program, you'll support clients with immediate accommodation needs, safety planning, service navigation and practical steps toward more stable housing.
This role will see you working with people facing a range of complex and intersecting issues, including family violence, child protection concerns, alcohol and other drug use, mental health challenges and broader family support needs. You'll be part of a collaborative team, while also having the autonomy to assess risk, respond to crisis and build strong engagement with clients during highly vulnerable periods.

Key Responsibilities - Deliver intensive case management to singles, couples and families in emergency motel accommodation
- Complete intake, triage, assessment and crisis response for people experiencing homelessness or immediate housing risk
- Develop strengths-based, trauma-informed case plans in partnership with clients
- Support clients to identify goals, address barriers and work toward longer-term housing outcomes
- Assess safety, wellbeing and risk, including responding to complex presentations and crisis situations
- Maintain accurate case notes, data entry and administrative records across relevant systems
- Liaise with internal teams and external services to coordinate practical supports and referrals
- Contribute to a responsive team environment, including shared duties and program support as required
What You'll Bring
Essential - Diploma in Community Services or a related field, at minimum
- Demonstrated case management experience within community services, ideally homelessness or crisis support
- Strong understanding of person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
- Experience working in fast-paced crisis or outreach-style environments
- Ability to engage effectively with people experiencing complex and overlapping challenges
- Well-developed communication, rapport-building and assessment skills
- Strong written communication and confidence using databases, Microsoft Office and case recording systems
- Current QLD Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Desirable - Bachelor level qualification
- Experience or exposure across homelessness, family and domestic violence, child protection, AOD, mental health or family support
