HR Officer
Pay: $85,000 + super
Location: Preston
Employment Type: Full-time, ongoing (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm)
Tradewind Australia is partnering with a well-established independent Faith-based school in Melbourne's Inner north to recruit an experienced HR Officer. This ongoing role supports a diverse school community and focuses on people, culture and compliance across the employee lifecycle.
About the Role
As the HR Officer, you will support the school's day-to-day human resources operations, working closely with senior leaders and executive staff. You will play a key role in performance management, staff engagement and ensuring compliance with the relevant education ward.

Key Responsibilities
- Support performance management processes across the school
- Work closely with senior executives on HR matters
- Coordinate staff inductions, onboarding and probation processes
- Prepare and issue employment contracts and employment variations
- Support workplace culture and change management initiatives
- Provide guidance on the Education Award and employment conditions
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation
- Support basic payroll processes and liaise with finance as required
What You'll Bring
Essential
- Demonstrated HR experience within a school or education setting
- Strong working knowledge of the Education Award
- Confident communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Professional presentation and approach
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
- Basic understanding of payroll processes
- Experience supporting organisational change
