Job Description

A reputable state school in North Balwyn is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join our team starting at the beginning of Term 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Geography and History lessons to students from Years 7-10, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Responsibilities include planning and assessing curriculum, developing students' analytical and critical thinking skills, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance educational outcomes. Strong communication skills and a passion for history and geography are essential. Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligning with the curriculum.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and community service projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
  • Promote a deep understanding and appreciation of geography and history.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience as a Humanities Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
