This role is ideal for someone who values relationship-led, trauma-informed practice and wants their work to directly strengthen safety, wellbeing, independence, and connection to culture and community.

About the Role

You will deliver culturally safe, holistic case management to young parents (typically 16-24) who are navigating homelessness, unstable housing, and complex life pressures.

The pilot program works collaboratively with the Gold Coast Hospital and Waijungbah Jarjums Health Service, supporting referral pathways and strengthening stakeholder relationships to achieve sustainable outcomes for young families.

You will build trusting relationships, walk alongside young people through culturally safe processes, and support each person to set and progress meaningful housing, wellbeing, and life goals.

  • SCHADS 5: $100k+
  • Salary packaging
  • Free, secure on-site parking
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture
  • Employee recognition and wellbeing focus
  • Discounts and benefits (e.g., health insurance, gym, travel - where available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed, strengths-based case management for young parents experiencing homelessness or housing instability
  • Co-develop case plans that reflect the young person's voice, cultural identity, and aspirations (in partnership with family/community where appropriate)
  • Support independence-building and practical living skills while strengthening cultural, family, and community connection
  • Provide intake, assessment, advice, advocacy, referrals, and service navigation
  • Facilitate access to programs, support groups, and community networks aligned with individual goals and cultural needs
  • Maintain regular reporting and documentation in line with organisational and legislative requirements
  • Contribute to program development and evaluation through community feedback and cultural knowledge

What You'll Bring

  • Completed degree qualification in Human Services or a related field
  • Experience in intake, assessment, case management, advocacy and referral-based work
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed, holistic, strengths-based frameworks
  • Confidence engaging with diverse communities and complex presentations
  • Understanding of factors contributing to youth homelessness (e.g., family conflict, trauma, mental health, substance use, financial hardship, and systemic barriers)
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
  • Ability to meet probity and compliance requirements (including vaccination requirements if applicable)
