About the Role:

Calling all dedicated Islamic Studies teachers for primary and secondary levels! A remarkable opportunity awaits you at a renowned International Baccalaureate Islamic school in Tarneit, starting from Term 3. This esteemed institution, accommodating approximately 1600 students from P-12, is dedicated to nurturing both novice and experienced educators in the field of Islamic Studies. Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Islamic Studies curriculum that aligns with the school's educational standards, religious goals and Victorian Curriculum.
  • Ensure the curriculum covers key aspects of Islamic teachings, including Quranic studies, Hadith, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Seerah (life of Prophet Muhammad), Islamic history, and ethics.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans that are engaging, age-appropriate, and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Teach students the correct recitation (Tajweed) and memorization (Hifz) of the Quran.
  • Provide regular practice sessions and assess students' progress in Quranic recitation and memorization.
  • Instil Islamic values and ethics in students, emphasizing the importance of good character, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Guide students in their spiritual development, encouraging regular prayer (Salah), reflection, and adherence to Islamic practices.
  • Organise and participate in school events related to Islamic culture

Skills & Experience:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Islamic Studies in Australia at a Primary/Secondary level
  • Supportive of school ethos and faith
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
