About the Role:
Tradewind are working with a Secondary school oriented in Taylor's Lakes, situated in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, offering a part-time 7-10 Japanese position starting in Term 2. A fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic school community. The institution is welcoming to both new graduates and seasoned teachers, offering learning coaching and access to exceptional resources.
Key duties:
- Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Japanese LOTE at a Secondary level
- Deliver effective and interactive Japanese language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
- Introduce aspects of the Japanese culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
- Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
- Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate the Japanese language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
- Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in Japanese LOTE, highly valued
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

- Commencing as a part time position starting in Week 2, Term 2, 2024
