About the Role:
Looking for a fresh start in 2025?! An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Secondary Maths/Science teacher to join a dynamic F-9 school in Tarneit, Melbourne's Western suburbs, starting in 2025. This role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time (0.8) employment in an ongoing capacity, where you will teach students in Years 7-9 as part of a supportive and collaborative team. The school, home to approximately 1000 students from Foundation to Year 9, provides a welcoming and progressive environment, making it an ideal place to make a lasting impact. School tours are available for interested candidates.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Current up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Visual Arts in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
