About the Role:
We are recruiting for a fully qualified Kindergarten Teacher to teach in a lovely Early Learning centre in St Kilda with a positive culture and supportive management team.
The hours of this role are:
· 8.30am - 4.30pm 5 days a week.
· 8.30am - 1.30pm Teaching and 1.30pm - 4.30pm Lunch and non-contact time
Key duties:
- Base teaching on best theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of each student's development, skills and interest.
- Identify and cater for individual learner needs
- Provide an environment that promotes the cognitive, physical, emotional, social and intellectual wellbeing of all students.
- Work closely with parents regarding the progress and development of their children.
- Participate in the creation, development and evaluation of curriculum.
- Design lesson plans and assessments that reflect a deep understanding of the content
- Stay informed regarding current trends, teaching practices and curriculum and resource developments by remaining in contact with relevant associations and other professional networks.
- Keep confidential records, respond to inquiries, and promote the centre professionally.
- Actively working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Skills & Experience:
- Completed a Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood Education (or ACEQUA equivalency)
- Current VIT registration
- Prior Experience in long daycare or Kindergarten in Australia (Minimum 2 years)
- Satisfactory Police and Working with Children checks
- Sound, practical working knowledge and implementation of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years
- Learning Framework
