About the Role:
A rewarding opportunity awaits a committed Secondary Math/Science teacher to join a dynamic community at an F-9 school in Truganina, nestled in Melbourne's West. This full-time, permanent position is available immediately, welcoming both fresh graduates and seasoned educators alike. The role involves teaching Math and Science, working closely with other teachers in the STEM faculty.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Maths and Science in Australia, advantageous
  • Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
