About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Science/Maths teacher to join an F-9 school in Tarneit, located in Melbourne's Western suburbs. Joining a small team, you'll teach students in years 7-9 in a full-time role with a flexible start. With approximately 1000 students spanning from years F-9, this school offers an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a vibrant school community.
Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
- Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.
Skills & Experience:
- MUST HAVE unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Maths/Science
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
