About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Science/Maths teacher to join a small multi-cultural Catholic school in St Albans starting in Term 3, located in Melbourne's Western suburbs. Joining a small team, you'll teach students in years 7-10 in a full-time role across subjects of Maths and Science. With approximately 500 students spanning from years 7-10, this school offers an excellent opportunity to become an integral part of a vibrant school community.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have full Australian Working Rights
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Maths/Science
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
